Synopsis

Black docu-comedy from the largest pawn shop in Poland. In a city known as "Polish Detroit", Jola and Wiesiek are trying to save a failing business and their relationship. At ul. Persistent 1, people of an impoverished, post-industrial district are fighting for survival every day but their strength lies in the community. Visually appealing static shots capture the protagonists in this deprived neighborhood at their most vulnerable, surrounded by every imaginable kind of treasure and trash.
