Jacques Ballard

Jacques Ballard is based in Paris France. His english father is a renowned painter. Jacques has always been fascinated by light, colour and composition.

He has shot over a dozen of one hour documentaries for the private french TV channel Canal+ “Les Nouveaux Explorateurs”. He worked and travelled in more than 30 countries, granting him the reputation of an adventure traveller.

He shot over 150 commercials for clients and directors around the world, appreciated for his work on car commercials for clients such as Volkswagen, Audi, Jeep, Renault, Peugeot, Citroen, Ferrari, Lexus, Ford… He also shoots action and sports commercials, and is used to work on projects with lots of special effects.

He also loves to work on drama projects. The first feature he lensed : « Noor » was selected in more than 20 festivals worldwide, one of them being Cannes Films Festival (ACID program), won several international prizes.

Jacques is also specialised in Underwater cinematography,

He shot, in 2020, the feature movie « The Deep House » directed by Julien Maury and Alexandre Bustillo, starring Camille Rowe and James Jagger. A horror film almost all shot underwater in a sunken haunted house. He and his team have developed new technologies to shoot that project. Produced by Radar Films.

The web serie « Deep » by JF Julian, for Studio Canal for which he won the best cinematography award at the International Bilbao TV series festival 2017.

Jacques Ballard also won best cinematography award at the Berlin Music Video Awards 2018 for AMA, short film, directed and performed by Julie Gautier, shot in the deepest pool in the world (Y-40 Deep joy, in Italy).
