Guillaume Deffontaines, born in 1968, is a French cinematographer. His passion for cinematography started when he was very young through his dad's amator and artistics films. He studied at Louis-Lumière school in 1992.
He began his professional career as a camera assistant for ten years with Christophe Beaucarne who introduced him to directors as Bruno Poalydes, Jean-Luc Godard and Anne-Marie Mieville. He became a photography assistant (especially on Cédric Klapisch's film "Paris"), and then a director of photography.
