It all started when he watched his older brother develop his own photos in his darkroom that intrigued him.

Later there were other signs that Brecht didn't know about because he wanted to be a pilot.

Several years later he graduated from film school; apparently the urge to make images and to see the world through a lens could no longer be ignored.

After a short period of assisting and doing chores on different sets soon he got the chance to light and shoot a few music videos himself... which catapulted him to the advertising world in a short time.

In this environment he was having fun, trying out new things, traveling around the world, meeting new people all the time. But after a few years he felt the need to tell (longer) stories, to create worlds and atmospheres over a longer period of time than just a few days, to dig deeper and connect with the directors and his crew-members in a different way.

He did a few short movies to introduce his name in the world of drama and he soon got the chance to shoot a 6-episode miniseries. And after that another series, and another one and another one...

After more than 10 years, Brecht is still in love with his passion, hoping he can continue to do what he feels he's made to do, shooting all kinds of different beautiful projects (feature films, series, commercials) all over the world, meeting interesting people, learning every day.
